About Us

Emerald Coast Ice Hockey League (ECIHL)

~~WELCOME TO THE EMERALD COAST ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE

THE ECIHL IS A NON-PROFIT, USA HOCKEY SANCTIONED, COMPETITIVE CONTACT (NON-CHECKING), ADULT HOCKEY PROGRAM FOR PLAYERS OF ALL SKILL LEVELS

This website is the information source for the ECIHL; here you will find schedules, procedures, league news, and other information. If you are a player in the league please check back often for updated info, if you are new to the area and are looking for Hockey we hope you come out and join us!

All players MUST have a valid USA Hockey registration on file with the league BEFORE first ice contact--NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

ATTENTION: Just so there is no confusion, our ice times and schedules vary from week to week because we have to work our schedule around other events at the Pensacola Bay Center (PBC) and it can change on short notice. Pick-Up games are scheduled if there are extra time slots available. Check the schedule frequently for updates!

In 2009, the Emerald Coast Ice Hockey League (ECIHL) was formed to provide a positive atmosphere targeting active duty military, veterans as well as civilians in the area to help maintain a healthy lifestyle playing a sport unique to the area and/or that they grew up playing prior to moving to the Emerald Coast.   Also, the ECIHL hopes to grow interest and participation in adult ice hockey in Escambia and surrounding counties through the development of all players, regardless of skill level, in an organized and respectful environment. The North Florida area near Pensacola has had recreational hockey in the Pensacola Civic Center for over 20 years and our league takes pride in keeping the tradition moving forward and growing the hockey in the South!

There are 2 levels of Hockey offered in the ECIHL, depending on your desire for competitive or recreational level play. The Board reserves the right to ask a player to play up to B or down to Rec(C) for safety reasons.

Directions

If you have not been to the Pensacola Bay Center (PBC) before, there is a parking lot off of Alcaniz Street (West side of the PBC). Park there and enter through the glass doors to the left of the ticket windows. Go straight down the corridor and enter the arena area. Locker rooms are in the back right corner by the Zamboni. If you can't figure it out, ask.

Important PBC Rules

DO NOT EVER enter a locker room designated for the youth league.

Do not dress in areas where youth league players can observe you.

NO ALCOHOL allowed on PBC property.

League Rules

The ECIHL follows USA Hockey rules.

Exception: we play Blue Line Icing (must get the puck beyond defense end blue line before dumping the puck in the offensive zone).

Additionally, Inappropriate yelling/language directed toward your own teammates may result in a 10-minute Misconduct Penalty.
